Blog Assignment 5

I learned a lot about some cool sites in this class. I think that the class was very informative on doing lesson plans and using the resources of the world wide web. I think this is a very useful class for all future educators. I'm still going back and looking at some of the sites that I learned about. I plan to continue going back to look at the sites for my lesson plans and to get new ideas. My wow for this class was google earth, I really think this is way cool, you can even follow your route on line and see where your gonna be traveling. All in all I really enjoyed this class.

Apple Learning Exchange

This is a cool site. I talked to my sister-in-law who is a teacher in Alabama & she said that she hasn't heard of it, but that she would research it. I liket it for listening to pod cast and research purposes.

This is my first blog and am still playing and learning all about it, and having fun at it.

Articles to reflect on my blog.

Laptops replace textbooks in Louisiana school district.

I think laptops in the classroom are a wonderful idea. It would be easier for the student and teacher alike. For homework, I think it would simplify it, make it quicker and easier. Just think, the excuse, "My dog ate my homework" would be a thing of the past.

Laptops would also, I think, make it more fun for the students to want to learn. Let's face it, computers are here to stay at home and at schools.

Video system help create multimedia curriculum.

This is actually old technology. I helped install a video classroom for USD #443 here in Dodge City about 15 years ago when I worked for a cable TV company. Although I'm not sure if it was used in a context as is available now, but it was similar to what this article wa talking about. I believe it was more for web com classrooms. Today's technology would be fun and exciting to use this in all classrooms.

Myspace enforcer patrols virtual street to keep kids safe.

I have never played with myspace, but what I've read and heard about it, I think they need to police the site more carefully and pay attention to what young kids of today are posting and talking about.
